The concept is brilliant and does make life much easier however it has some fairly big flaws.
Pros:
- A BIG PRO, it helps colicky babies massively. We had a colicky baby who really struggled and this took a lot of it away and minimised air bubbles in the formula due to the mixing method.
- the mixer goes right to the bottom so you’re not left with any powder collecting at the bottom (we brought a cheap version of Amazon which didn’t do this and it didn’t mix properly)
- it has Oz and ml measurements on the side like a bottle
- saves a lot of time instead of making each bottle individually to then put away in the fridge. Can make up the milk in the jug and while it’s cooling use that time to sterilise bottles etc..
Cons:
- the measurements on the side come off. It’s not like the bottles where it doesn’t budge. This starts to come off around the month mark which then isn’t helpful when you can’t read the measurements.
- the handle isn’t permanently attached and is able to be taken off which it did sometimes do when trying to put together and use.
- the handle also isn’t microwave steriliser safe. One time in the steraliser and it melted some of the plastic which started melting the part where it attaches to the mixer and this then was too big of a hole and it kept falling off even more.
- I think we ended up buying 2 or 3 before she was 5m old which after that she went down to a couple of bottles and colic was gone so didn’t need the jug anymore.
Overall I do recommend for the colic side of things as this massively helped and as a new parent with a crying baby you’ll do anything to make it better. However be prepared to buy multiple and to take the handle off if you have a microwave steraliser.
Really quick and easy to mix a large quantity of formula
